What is the complimentary takaful term plan? 

The complimentary takaful term plan provides the takaful coverage for death with sum covered of RM8,000. In the event of death of the person covered, it provides a lump sum takaful benefit (i.e. RM8,000) as at the time of claim. Sun Life Malaysia Takaful (SLMT) will utilise the death claim benefit for Waqf/Badal Hajj according to your selected plan option.

What is the coverage period for this complimentary takaful term plan? 

It provides coverage for 12 months, from the certificate commencement date.

What are the eligibility criteria to participate in the complimentary takaful term plan? 

You are eligible to participate in the complimentary takaful term plan if you are an existing Muslim SLMT contract holder or a new Muslim client with an in-force takaful plan, a Malaysian citizen or Permanent Resident residing in Malaysia with a valid 12- digit NRIC, aged between 18 to 64.

Do I need to undergo any medical check-up before I register with the complimentary takaful term plan? 

No, as this is a guaranteed takaful issuance.

How many takaful term plan can I sign up for? 

Each eligible individual is only allowed to participate in one complimentary takaful term plan.

How do I receive my certificate documents after I registered with the complimentary takaful term plan? 

Once you have successfully participated in the complimentary takaful term plan, you will receive an email confirmation and certificate from SLMT within 3 business days from the date of your application of the complimentary takaful term plan.

What are the exclusions under the plan? 

The death benefit will not be payable if the person covered commits suicide (while sane or insane) or dies due to a pre-existing condition within twelve (12) months from the certificate commencement date.

What are the key terms and conditions under the complimentary takaful term plan? 

Pre-existing condition - No benefit will be payable if the person covered dies due to pre-existing illness, injury, conditions or symptoms that existed before the certificate commencement date.

Is there any waiting period for this plan? 

Yes, there is a 30 days waiting period from the GTT commencement date applies to death. No benefit is payable if the person covered dies during this period.

Can I cancel the plan after registering with it? 

Yes, you may cancel the plan after join. No benefit will be provided after the cancellation.

Do I need to make a nomination? 

No death benefit will be payable to a nominee. The entire RM8,000 benefit will be utilised solely for Waqf/Badal Hajj as agreed by you during the application.
